A better farmer’s market
The West Nashville Farmer’s Market is back open for business! If you’ve never before participated in this weekly ritual at Richland Park between April and November, you’re missing out on the best farmer’s market in town.
Started in 2009, the family-friendly market was immediately voted #1 Farmers Market by the SCENE and isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. The producer’s-only market has vendors selling the best local meat, produce, baked goods, dairy and other specialty items amidst the perfect music-filled atmosphere to kick off your weekend. You can see the list of vendors here.
Their beautifully redesigned website is an excellent source of information on eating organic, local foods and does much, much more than promote this one local market. The resource section is rich with book recommendations, and favorite links and blogs are easy to find in the sidebar for those craving more information on local topics.
Come out early on Saturdays for the best selection, and be sure to bring the kids. They’ll have a blast, and you’ll be teaching them a great lesson in the joys of buying locally and supporting our regional farming community. The market is open from 9am – noon every Saturday through November.
Follow the West Nashville Farmer’s Market on Twitter @WestNashFrmsMkt and be sure to sign up for their weekly newsletter. You won’t regret it.
